I finally set foot in my dad’s hometown, antagal din!

This was one of the best travel experiences I’ve had. For the longest time, we always visited my mom’s hometown in Abra since Papa has been an OFW for a long time. Pero now, I made sure to visit – Buhi, Camarines Sur– because it’s been almost 10 years (or more) since I last saw my lola (my dad’s mom). She’s been sick most of the time, and I didn’t want to waste any more time before seeing her. It was a really special moment.

Another thing that made this trip so memorable was reuniting with my titas, titos, and cousins. Parang mini-reunion na din! Some of my cousins, I was meeting for the first time. It was such a heartwarming experience, bonding with everyone, sharing stories, and just enjoying our time together.

We also got to explore some beautiful places during the trip, which made it even better:
?? Buhi Lake – Tranquil and picturesque, perfect for a peaceful day out.
?? Buhi Market Place – A great spot for local finds and souvenirs.
?? Pungol, Monte Calvario natural stream – Refreshing and a great nature escape.
?? St. Francis of Assisi Church – A beautiful and peaceful place to reflect.
?? Baresbisan Beach – Stunning views and crystal-clear water!

Buhi, Camarines Sur, Bicol is such a beautiful and peaceful place—surrounded by nature with the most serene views. Buhi Lake was a sight to behold, and life here feels calm and steady. The food? Absolutely delicious! We ate the freshest fish offered, and I got to try sinarapan from my aunt’s house (the tiniest fish in the world!) and pancit Bicol. Sobrang sarap! Life here is simple, but everything feels just right.

Pungol, Monte Calvario natural stream was definitely my favorite spot during the trip. Sarap magbabad sa malamig na tubig, and it really felt like being one with nature. The peaceful vibe and untouched beauty of the place made it so relaxing—perfect for escaping the usual hustle and bustle. I just hope they maintain its cleanliness and keep it as natural as possible. Hindi na kailangan ng sobrang development; the raw beauty of the stream is already more than enough! Highly recommended!

If I had more time, I would have stayed longer to experience more of Buhi. It’s one of those places you want to come back to, to enjoy the calmness and, personally, spend more time with my Lola.

I’d love to escape the city noise for a while and soak in the peace of the province. Can’t wait to go back and experience more soon!
