A typical guy who loves listening to music.
This is what Ric will tell you if you are to ask him something about himself. “I’m just an ordinary guy, funny sometimes, nothing interesting, I guess, and oh! I love music, it’s in my blood!”
However, this typical description of himself will fade away when you finally talk to him a little more and dig in with his personal life. You will find out that this Journalism student from University of the Philippines Diliman is not just another ordinary guy that you usually bumped in within the busy corners of the streets.
His full name is Ric Jayson Abasola and most people call him Ric as a nickname. A young guy who has a passion not only in music but also in writing, this is the reason why he took Journalism as a course—to satisfy the passion that is within him.
He was raised in a family of five: mom, dad and two other siblings (older brother and a younger sister). He spent his younger days in their house in Alabang where he learned how to read and write play street games with his kababatas. In the year 2004, they left their first house to settle in a more secured life in Calamba, Laguna.
This ordinary guy who loves listening to music has something essential to share. When it comes to depth and dealing with life’s difficulties he’s not just an ordinary guy who spends hours with his iPod, sketchpad and laptop. He has a lot to say and has a lot to prove. His experiences honed his personality and made him a better person.
He’s a typical guy in the most extraordinary way.
