Lovin’ the new campsite in the South!

Camping was such a delight for me when I was a kid. As an active member of Boy Scout and later on an on-the-go mountaineer during my college days, camping was one of those on my list every year.

Packed meals, chips, bottled drinks and, my favorite, barbecue were always expected when doing an overnight hike. That smoke and heat from the bonfire, nakakamiss! Sino gusto magcamping, this weekend!?! ðŸ¤”

Ayala Malls Manila Bay’s Camp Curry

Seeing a camping-inspired restaurant really caught my attention. As expected, I got that camping vibe experience after seeing the interior, the untensils (shovel-shaped spoons and thermos pitcher, camping na camping, lol) they have on the table and the way they prepare each meal- open kitchen setting, you can watch how they toss and turn the cuisine they will soon serve. I even waited for a huge fire to come out, take some shots and use it as one of my contents. Amazing!

Huge fire from the pan, nakakagulat! lol

Camp Curry or Tokyo Camp has been in PH’s restaurant scene for two years already. Ayala Malls Manila Bay is their second branch after their successful Ayala Triangle physical store.

It was their soft opening when I visited so people are actually flocking in to taste how curry sauces have been integrated to Japanese’ camping foods, their cuisines in general.

As we all know, curry is one of Japan’s known dishes. A Japanese meal will not be complete if a curry dish is not present.

With Mr. Takashi Sato’s initiative to introduce further Japan’s curry to all parts of the world, Camp curry was born and now waving its presence in PH market.

My Personal Favorites

1. BBQ Pork Belly and Mashed Potato- grilled to perfection, tinitignan ko pa lang, feeling ko makaka- 2 cups of rice na ko, the sauce they used made it more fantastic, super mouth watering!
2. Grilled Shrimp with Mashed Potatoes- shrimp cooked in any way (…i know and familiar with) is a sure winner for me, hindi ko uurungan yan! The curry sauce really changed the game, i’ll try to do the same when I do my home cooking. Apir!
3. Potato Croquette – my third runner-up and for me is really a good appetizer. The cheesy filling with meat bits inside is sure to excite your tastebuds. #thebest
